Carrier Frequency or a Carrier Wave, is a waveform with an input signal. This waveform is usually transmitted through space as an electromagnetic wave, carrying the input information. It may also be transmitted through a common medium – such as optical cable etc., where each wave is of a different frequency, to facilitate Frequency Division Multiplexing.
In other words, the information carried by these waves do not get mixed because of different Carrier Frequencies.
