Cartilage are the fibrous connective tissue. The outermost covering of cartilage is of white fibrous like, known as pericondrium.

Some points about cartilage:-

  • Matrix of cartilage is called as chondrin.
  • Collagen present is cartilage provides elasticity.
  • The matrix of cartilage provides rigidity and elasticity.
  • The cells arranged on the periphery known as chondroblast divides to form the condrocytes(cartilage cells) and nourishes the matrix of the cartilage.
