CATABOLISM:

Catabolism is the set of metabolic pathways that breaks down molecules into smaller units that are either oxidized to release energy or used in other anabolic reactions.

Catabolism is the breaking-down aspect of metabolism, whereas anabolism is the building-up aspect.

Some points on catabolism are as follows:-

1. It is a process of breaking f substance into simpler one it known as catabolism.

2. Suppose in case if breaking of protein is going on then it is known as protein catabolism.

3. pH and temperature are the two main factors which play role in catabolism.

4. If there is low pH then catabolism process goes quite fast.

5. Means low pH and high temperature are the favorable condition of catabolism.
