There are many reasons for the dropping of fruits from the tree before harvesting.

They are  

• Trees will drop their ripened fruits if they were not harvested because of some sort of constant stress in the branches of the tree.  
• The trees will drop their fruits in order to balance the water and food between the young fruits and ripened fruits.
• Sometime high speed winds are also the cause for the dropping of fruits from the tree.
• Fruits with severe disease and damage may fall from the tree before they are harvested.
• Insect dame to the fruit and branches may also induce the dropping of fruits before they are harvested.
