cell division happen when a parent cell divide into two or more cell called daughter cells.cell division usually occurs as part of a large cell cycle .All cells produce by splitting into two, where each parental cell gives rise to two daughter cells.

In other words, such cycle of growth and division allow a single cell to form a structure consisting of millions of cells.

An important characteristic of living beings is the capacity to reproduce. Cells do so. Cells arise only from other cells by a process called cell division.

Most cells are capable of growing and splitting into similar cells. the cells so produced are called the daughter cells. they are identical to the mother cell.

During the formation of daughter cells, the nucleus of the mother cell divides into two, so that each daughter cell gets one nucleus each. This is it is followed by division of cytoplasm. Finally two daughter cells are formed. this mode of division is exhibited by amoeba, unicellular organism.
