It is the type of division in which the parent cell is divided into no. Of daughter cells. It is of two types:-
Meiotic division and mitotic division.

Types:-
1. Mitosis is used for growth and repair and produces diploid cells identical to each other and parent cell.
2. Meiosis is used for sexual reproduction and produces haplpid cells different to each other and parent cell.
