Description: Cell division is the process by which a parent cell divides into two or more daughter cells. Cell division usually occurs as part of a larger cell cycle.

There are two types of cell division: mitosis and meiosis. During mitosis, a cell duplicates all of its contents, including its chromosomes, and splits to form two identical daughter cells.

Or also You can say that ,

The division of a cell into two daughter cells with the same Genetic Material.

There are two types of Cell Division.

  • Mitosis.
  • Meiosis.

Mitosis !!

Mitosis is the face of the cell where chromosomes in the nucleus are evenly divided between two cells.

This term Coined by w. Fleming.

Mitosis helps in growth and reproduction too and it plays a major role in removing warn and dead cells.

Meiosis !!

It can be defined as reductional division.

In meiosis, Crossing over between the non-sister Chromatids occur. This results in generic recombination.
