The cell is the basic structural, functional and biological unit of all living organisms. Cells are the building blocks of organisms. The two types of organisms categorized on the basis of number of cells present are:-

1. Multicellular organisms:- having more than one cell and in a large number too. E. g Volvox and humans, etc.

2. Unicellular organisms:- having only one cell.

E.g Amoeba,etc.
