Answer :-

  • The cell theory was a brief account of the characteristic features of a cell and it's activities.

A part of the content of the cell theory is as follows :-

  • Every living being is made up of Cells.

  • Every living being has cells which contain a "Nucleus" along with a small amount of "Protoplasm".

  • Each and every activity of an organism is an outcome of the activities of the cells in the body of that organism.

  • Every cell may or may not be bounded by a cell wall.

Some exceptions to the cell theory :-

  • Absence of nucleus in Bacterial cells.

  • There was no information about "Viruses" in the cell theory.

  • The cell theory did not provide any sort of information about how new cells are formed.

Extra Information :-

  • The cell theory was proposed by Schleiden (Botanist from Germany ) and Schwann (Zoologist from Britain).

  • "Nucleus" is the controlling authority of a cell.

  • "Protoplasm" is defined as the living entity present inside a cell.
