cell is the basic unit of life . it is where our life starts it is the structural and fundamental unit of life . it is considered as the fundamental unit of life because it makes up the living body cells combine and form tissues, tissues combine form organ , then organ system and the living being . it is the reason why the living being is alive it is the place where metabolic process occur . this is why it is known as fundamental unit of life.
