Census method refers to the complete enumeration of a universe. A universe may be a place, a group of people or a specific locality through which we collect the data. Census method is necessary in some cases like population census, Agriculture Census, animal census etc for gaining vast knowledge.

It is mandated by Article I, Section 2 of the Constitution and takes place every 10 years. The data collected by the census determine the number of seats each state has in the U.S. House of Representatives and is also used to distribute billions in federal funds to local communities.
