Explanation:

Before the centrifugal force , you should know about centripetal force. Centripetal force acts towards the centre of the circular path . However , it is not a new force ... forces like tension , friction etc. acts as centripetal force during circular motion.

Now , first thing... about centrifugal force is that it is not a real force (i.e comes only in play when you are in a non inertial frame ) it always acts opposite to the centripetal force (i.e radially outwards) .
