Answer:

centripetal force

Explanation:

if a particle is in uniform motion ,there must be centripetal acceleration towards the center of the circle . if there is acceleration then there must be some force acting on it with respect to  an inertial frame .

EXPLAINITION:

a centripetal force is defined as ,

a component of force acting on an object in curvilinear motion which is directed towards the axis of rotation or centre of curvature .

the unit of centripetal force is Newton .

the centripetal force is always directly proportional to the direction of the displacement of an object .

the Centripetal Force Formula is given as the product of mass ( in kg ) and tangential velocity ( in meter per second ) squared , divided by the radius ( in meters ) which implies that on doubling the tangential velocity the centripetal force will be quadrupled .

mathematically it is written as :

f = m {c}^{acc} {}^{}    =  \frac{m {v}^{2} }{r}

where ;

  • f is centripetal force
  • m is mass of the object
  • c^acc is centripetal acceleration
  • v is velocity or the speed of the object and
  • r is radius

Examples :

  • spinning a ball on a string
  • turning a car
  • going through a loop on a roller coaster

and the most common and important example is

  • the planets orbiting around the sun
