Centripetal force is always present wherever there is circular motion. It acts along the radius of the circle in which the body is moving towards the centre and is responsible for maintaing circular motion. Many forces can act act as centripetal force and cause an object to move in circular motion, for example - the centripetal force responsible to keep the moon moving around the earth is earth's gravitational pull.

 \Large \text{Centripetal\: Force }

❁ It is the force required to move a body in a circular path. This force acts along the radius and directed towards the centre of circular path .

❁ The direction of centripetal force is towards the centre of circular path, because the direction of centripetal acceleration is towards the centre of circular path .

❂ Examples of centripetal force :

❁ Planets are revolving around the sun due to the centripetal force provided by the sun .

❁ Satellites revolving around the Earth due to the centripetal force provided by the earth .
