the land Champaran which is a district in Bihar was very suitable for cultivation of Indigo. British traders made Indian farmer bound to cultivate Indigo in their land. The harvested Indigo only British trade were taking in very low price from this poor farmers. The farmers very Starving after having lot of hard work and land.

When Mahatma Gandhi informed about this he visited Champaran and started Satyagraha against British and lastly he got victory and all the farmers of Champaran where freed from the clutches of British traders. This is known as Champaran Andolan.
