1)Animals are bilaterally symmetrical, triploblastic, have coelom.
2)They show a feature of body design named notochord.
3)They do not have proper notochord at all stages of their lives.
4)They are marine animals.
For Ex: Balanoglossus, herdemania, amphioxus.

Protochordata/Acraniata/Non vertebrate chordates is a sub group under chordata which involves chordates without cranium or brain box.
Their basic features include:

1) Presence of notochord

2) Central nervous system is dorsal,hollow and single

3) Pharynx perforated by Gill slits

4) Heart is ventral

5) A post anal tail is present

6) Gut is ventral to nerve chord.

7) Absence of cranium or brain box.

They are further divided into 2 sub phylums, 

1) Urochordata

2) Cephalochordata
