⋄Writing of chemical equation involves the following steps ⋄

➠ The symbols and formula of the reactant are written on the left hand side (LHS) with Plus(+) sign between them.

➠ The symbol and formula of the product written on the right hand side(RHS) with Plus(+) sign between them.

What is Chemical Equation?

______________________

A chemical Equation is a " balanced account of a chemical transaction." In any chemical transaction or reaction , the member of all atoms of all the participating elements will remain proportionately constant before and after the reaction ( Law of conservation of mass) .

Example - Formula of Oxygen is O2 . It shows that one molecule of oxygen js made up of 2 atoms of it .

How to Write chemical Equation ?

________________________

To be able to write a chemical equations , you must know the reactants , products and their chemical formulae.

Initially, Write the word equation and below it , write molecular equation.

Example -

Hydrogen + Oxygen = Water

H 2 + O 2 = H2 O

Now count and Compare the number of atoms of each elements on the LHS and RHS . Do they match ? If they do not , then it is an unbalanced equation . Such an equation is called skeletal Chemical equation. In this example , on the reactant side , there are 2 atoms of oxygen , but on the product side there is only one atom of oxygen .
