Chemical weathering changes the composition of rocks, often transforming them when water interacts with minerals to create various chemical reactions. Chemical weathering is a gradual and ongoing process as the mineralogy of the rock adjusts to the near surface environment.

chemical weathering....These type of weathering accurs whenever the minerals OK f the rocks reacts with the oxygen and carbon dioxide or atmosphere of rain water or water of the streams.. Due to this reaction they may form different types of oxide ad finally decetigrates... this process is known as chemical weathering...

ex... limestone and chalk...
