Hlo mate,

Here is your answer:

Chemosynthesis is a chemical process, mostly found in Bacteria (Monera), in which various inorganic substances such as nitrates, nitrites and ammonia are oxidised to release energy which is converted into ATP molecules.

The organisms which perform chemosynthesis are called chemoautotrophs. They are of different types based on the inorganic substance they oxidise:

1. Sulphur bacteria: Thiothrix, Sulfolobus, etc.

2. Nitrogen bacteria: Nitrosomonas, Nitrobacter, etc.

3. Hydrogen bacteria: Helicobacter pylori, Hydrogenbacter hermophilus, etc.

4. Methanotrophs: Methylomonas, Methylococcus capsulatus, etc.

5. Iron bacteria: Thiobacillus ferrooxidans, Geobacter metallireducens., etc.

Plants DO NOT produce their food by chemosynthesis, instead they perform photosynthesis to produce food, they are photoautotrophs.
