Child labour is making any child of age under 15 years to do work under employment or other such means.

Children under 18 years are often employed because they work for very little salary, they are obedient and they work hard.  Many children are exploited by employers.

Merits are that orphaned children and children from very poor families earn finances for themselves or their families.  Also the employers get good workers. It benefits them. Poverty problem is reduced a little. Government does not have to find solutions for such children.

Demerits are too many and have very big impact. The children lose their childhood. They become totally illiterate. They are exploited. They may face a lot of humiliation and ill treatment. The children's rights as per the constitution are violated.

Government needs to find (orphanages) caretaker homes for these children and/or fund their lives and education. Also the prestigious image of the country in the world will go down very badly.
