Chlor-alkali is the process of formation of sodium hydroxide salt In this process when electricity is passed through an aqueous solution of sodium chloride (called brine), it decomposes to for sodium hydroxide this process is called chlor -alkali process because the products formed are chlor for chlorine and alkali for basic-dissolvable salt sodium hydroxide.
