Chloroplasts are modified plastids (cell organelles seen only in plant cells) which contain the green pigment chlorophyll which helps to trap sunlight for photosynthesis. They have a double membrane , proteinacious matrix and have disc like structures called thylakoids(see the spelling carefully) which contain chlorophyll.
