Chloroplast : The are green coloured plastids because of the pressence of chlorophyll. They trap the solar energy and perform the functions of photosynthesis.

Functions of chloroplast :

  1. Provide gaudy colours to fruits and flowers, helping in pollination and dispersal.
  2. Perform the functof photosynthesis.

Explanation:

Chloroplast is a type of Plastids. Plastids are bounded by double membrane. They occur in plant cell only . The organisation of plastids contain numerous membrane layered structure embedded in a material called the stroma.

In the stroma there are stocks called grana . each granum contains photosynthetic apparatus.

types of plastids are :

  1. Leucoplasts
  2. Chromoplasts
  3. Chloroplasts
