Chloroplasts are modified plastids (cell organelles seen only in plant cells) which contain the green pigment chlorophyll which helps to trap sunlight for photosynthesis. They have a double membrane , proteinacious matrix and have disc like structures called thylakoids(see the spelling carefully) which contain chlorophyll.

Chloroplasts are organelles that are present in the plants body . These are disc shaped and their main role is to conduct photosynthesis . It contains a green pigment called chlorophyll , which traps the solar energy and stores it in the form of ATP ( Adenosine Triphosphate ) which is also called as ''energy currency'' and NADPH (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphate ) while freeing O₂ from H₂O .
