Chondrocytes and chondroblasts are two types of cells found in cartilages. Chondroblasts are a type of immature cells whereas chondrocytes are a type of mature cells. ... Chondrocytes are involved in the diffusion of nutrients to the cartilage as well as the repair of the cartilage.

Hope it helps.

Answer:

Chondrocytes, or chondrocytes in lacunae, are cells found in cartilage connective tissue. They are the only cells located in cartilage. They produce and maintain the cartilage matrix, which is a type of lake in which the chondrocytes swim.

Chondroblasts, or perichondrial cells, is the name given to mesenchymal progenitor cells in situ which, from endochondral ossification, will form chondrocytes in the growing cartilage matrix. Another name for them is subchondral cortico-spongious progenitors.
