Chordates are the organisms under the Phylum Chordata and which follow all the chordate fundamental characters at least in some part of their life cycle. Chordate fundamental characters include notochord, dorsal hollow nervecord, pharyngeal gill slits and post anal tail.
Non chordates are the organisms other than chordates and which do not obey atleast one or all the chordate fundamental characters. All the organisms of phyla from Porifera to Hemichordata come under non chordates.
