Explanation:

Cinnabar (HgS) is an ore of Mercury. The metals being less reactive can be obtained by reducing their oxides to metals by heating alone. So, when Cinnabar is heated in air, it first changes into its oxide and then into mercury metal.

Cinnabar is know as

* Sulphide ore of the mercury

*The metal which get extracted from the sulphide ore that is cinnabar is by the process of roasting and reduction.

*The ore gets heated in the presence of oxygen by oxide ore which further reduces and gives the mercury and the oxygen gas.
