Civil Disobedience movement: This movement is a landmark in the constitutional history of India. The Indian National Movement Congress Launched this movement on March 12, 1930 under the guidance of Gandhiji.
On December 29,1929 under the President ship of Jawaharlal Nehru gave an ultimatum to the British Government for the complete independence to India. The congress party also appealed to the people to observe 26th January 1930 as complete independence to India. Hence this movement is popularly known as Salt Satyagraha Movement, very soon thousands people followed Gandhiji in producing salt in their respective places. The Dandi March electrified the National Consciousness among Indian. In course of this movement Gandhiji commenced other Programmes such as boycott foreign good, prohibition, wearing of khadi clothes and boycott of government institutions. As as result Gandhiji was arrested, people through out the country voluntarily organized hartals, picketing, boycott, Swadeshi and other Programmes as an Intergral Part of this movement. This movement called off in April 1934 by Gandhiji. Government on its part arresting thousands of people.
