Closure properties mean a type of number should closed under all the four arithmetic methods.

Eg: 4+8=12(whole number + whole number = whole number).

4-8=-4 (Whole number + whole number not equal to whole number under subtraction. ).

HOPE IT HELPS YOU MATE.

Closer property : If a and b are two natural number then a + b and a × b is also a natural number...

For example : take a = 2 and b= 3 then a + b = 2 + 3 = 5.

Here 2 and 3 are natural number and their sum a+ b = 2 + 3 = 5 is again a natural number...

Suppose a = 2 and b = 3 then a × b = 2 × 3 = 6.

Again here 2 and 3 are natural number , their product i.e 6 is also a natural number...

This is one of the property of number and is known as closure property..

You can take any two natural number and add and multiply them together , you always get a result as natural number..

The property doesnt hold or valid for Subtraction and Division...

For example : a = 2 and b = 7 then

a - b = 2 - 7 = - 5 , which is not a natural number...Similarly a ÷ b = 2 ÷7 = 2 /7 , not a natural number...

Thus closure property hold for addition and miltiplication but it fails for subtraction and division for Natural number...Similarly you can check for other number systems like Whole numbers , Integers , Rational nimbers etc..
