Cnidoblast or nematocyte is the stinging cells present in organisms of phylum cnidaria. Each cnidoblast or nematocyte cells are characterized by an organelle called cnidocyst, or nematocyst which contains toxic chemicals. It is mainly used for catching preys or defence.
