The nervous system helps in controlling and coordinating various activities of the human body. The three types of nerves, cranial nerves, spinal nerves and visceral nerves run through the body and help in sending and receiving messages in the form of electrical impulses.

Coordination in humans(or any other eukaryote) mainly consists of two processes, namely, chemical control and neural control

1. Chemical control means the control obtained over the bodies' functions with the help of hormones secreted by the glands

2. Neural control is achieved with the help of nervous system that is the brain, nerves and the spinal cord
