two numbers are termed as co-prime whenever two number share no common factor.

(3,5) (7,9) (10,13) (15,16) (17,19)

No, the co-prime are not always prime because the condition for a pair of number to be co-prime is that that should not share no common factor.

for example

let us take two co-prime number

27 and 64      factors of two numbers are

27 = 3 \times 3 \times 3

64 = 4 \times 4 \times 4

so they share no common factor so they are co-prime

but neither of them are prime number
