Coagulation is the formation of  a clot in blood. The clotting usually occurs when there is injury to a blood vessel, which results to the activation of clotting factors such as platelets and clotting protein factors in the blood. This leads to the formation of a fibrin mesh that aggregates the platelets forming  a platelet plug that stops bleeding.

The  blood cells involved are the platelets.
