Platelet cells in the blood help the clotting process or coagulation of blood when there is a cut.

Coagulation of blood is the clotting of blood that starts to happen when there is a cut and blood starts to flow out or leak out.  The platelets form a net on the surface of the cut and thus stop blood cells from going out. Then plasma of blood also gets blocked from going out.  The blood (liquid plasma) starts to become like a gel near the cut. So the flow is slowed down.
