cohesion is water property that affect living and non-living things on earth through water molecules. Water is very cohesive in that it "sticks" to itself. Cohesion is what allows a water droplet to form, for example. When water molecules surround one another, they settle toward a low energy state.
Cohesive forces are the intermolecular forces (such as those from hydrogen bonding and Van der Waals forces) which cause a tendency in liquids to resist separation. This attractive force exist between molecules of the same substance

Cohesive are the atractive forces that exists between the molecules of the same substance.
For instance, rain fas in droplets rather than a fine mist, because water has strong cohesion which pulls its molecules tightly together, forming droplets.
