coliform is the bacteria present in the human beings and few animals intestines

and it comes out in human and few animals fecal matter(poop)

the presence of coliform bacteria in water will make it unfit for drinking

and can cause various health problems

in ganga river coliform bacteria is infested in it therefore authorities say ganga river is unfit for drinking or even bathing as it can cause various health problems

therefore GAP(ganga action plan ) was initiated to purify the ganga water
