Collenchyma is a tissue which is formed of parenchymatous but elongated cells. Their walls are thick at the corners. So there are no intercellular spaces. Collenchyma cells are found in the leaves,stem and petioles of herbaceous dicit plants.

FUNCTIONS:- Collenchyma cells provide mechanical support to the leaves and the stem.
