Colloid➙ A mixture with particles of one component suspended in another component.
▶Ex:- Milk & Butter
_________________________⤵
❖ Every colloid consists of two parts:-
♦ Colloidal particles
♦ Dispersing medium
❖ It's particles range in size from 1 nm to 1000 nm.
❖ It is a homogeneous non-crystalline substance consisting of large molecules.
❖ The size of the particles is between that of a solution & a suspension.
❖ The particles are still too small to be easily seen, but are large enough to separate a light beam.
❖ The types of colloids includes:-
♦ Sol
♦ Emulsion
♦ Foam
♦ Aerosol
❖ It is one of the three primary types of mixtures, with the other two being a solution and suspension.
