colonialism is the he policy or practice of acquiring full or partial political control over another country, occupying it with settlers.

The economic policies of British adversely affected the Indian peasants the British Govt. used to protect the landlords and money lenders.they exploited the peasants.The peasants rose in revolt against this injustice on many occasions .The peasants in Bengal formed their union and revolted against the compulsion of cultivating indigo.

Colonialism is a process of acquiring a territory by force and rule it against the will of the local inhabitants. Indian peasantry had to cultivate cash crops like indigo and opium instead of food crops against their will in order to earn revenue for the British colonialists.
