When iron nails are dipped into copper sulphate Then, iron nail become brownish in colour . and the colour of copper sulphate Solution changes from blue to light green.

Reaction:-

  \green{\bf Fe(s) + CuSo_4 (aq)  -->FeSo_4(aq) + Cu(s)}

▶️About Reaction:-

In this reaction , iron is more reactive than copper so iron has displaced or removed copper element from cooper sulphate Solution.

This reaction is Displacement reaction.

✝️ Displacement Reaction :-

Displacement Reaction is a reaction in which a more reactive element displaced the less reactive element.

Example:-

  • Zn(s) + CuSo4 --> ZnSo4 + Cu

In this reaction Zn is more reactive than Cu that's why Zn displayed Cu from cooper sulphate Solution.
