It’s usually darker than the colour of the shaded object because there’s less light on it, and if there’s any ambient light (e.g. the blue sky) on it, the shadow/shade would take on some of the colour of that ambient light (e.g. some blue). Also, the amount of ambient light influences the darkness of the shaded object.
So, on a sunny day, shaded objects are darker than sunlit objects, and they take on a bluish tint because of the light coming from the blue sky. The amount of blue depends on the amount of sky visible to the shaded object, just like the darkness of the shadow depends on how much light is is getting from the blue sky. Stuff that’s buried in corners would be very dark, because it would see no sun, no sky.
