Combustible substance=> Those types of substance that can burn are called as Combustible. In other words we can say that, Those substance which can undergo combustion are called as Combustible substance.
Some Examples:- Paper, Cloth, Straw, Cooking Gas (LPG),CNG, Cow dung cakes, Alcohol, Magnesium ribbon.
Non- combustible Subtance=> Those type of substances that do not burn are called Non-Combustible substance. They do not undergo combustion.
Some Examples:- Stone, Glass, Cement, Soil, Water, Iron nails, Copper objects and asbestos.

- A substance which burns in air and tends to produce heat and light is known as Combustible substances.
Short definition:-
- Those substances which undergo combustion or burn are called combustible substances.
- A material is considered combustible if it has a flash point higher than 37.8 ºC and below 93.3 ºC.

Non - combustile Substances:-
- A non-combustible material is a substance that does not ignite, burn, support combustion, or release flammable vapors when subject to fire or heat, in the form in which it is used and under conditions anticipated.
Short definition:-
- Those substances which do not undergo combustion are called non-combustible substances.
- A material which neither burns nor gives off flammable vapours in sufficient quantity for self-ignition when heated to approximately 750°C, this being determined in accordance with the Fire Test Procedures Code, (SOLAS).
- Stone, cement, bricks, soil, sand, water, iron nails, etc.
