When trees are planted in large numbers under extensive area for commercial purposes such as wood, timber, pulp etc is termed as commercial forestry.
Social forestry:-
The management and protection of forests and afforestation on barren lands with the propose of helping in the environmental, social and rural development is called social forestry.
