The common thing in cuscuta, ticks and leeches is that they all are parasites. They derive their nutrition from other organisms without killing them. The organism from which they derive their nutrition is called host. The host may be a plant or an animal.

Cuscuta :-

Cuscuta is a genus of about 100-170 species of yellow, orange, or red (rarely green) parasitic plants. The genus is found in throughout the temperate and tropical regions of the world, with the greatest species diversity in subtropical and tropical regions. The genus is rarely found in cool temperate climates, with only four species native to North Europe.

Ticks :-

Ticks are type of small parasites. They live by feeding on the blood of mammals, birds, and sometimes reptiles and amphibians. Ticks are widely distributed around the world, especially in warm and humid climates.

Leeches :-

Leeches are also type of parasites that live in freshwater environments, while some species can be found in terrestrial and marine environments. Most leech species, however, are predatory, feeding primarily by swallowing other invertebrates.
