when religion is seen as the

basis of the community then it is called communalism

it involves thinking about the following lines

1)people from same religion have same opinion any difference may have

they have will be insignificant

2)on the other hand people from different religious communities may have significant differences and superficial commonalities

3)in the extreme form of communalism it leads to that people from different communities cannot live together as citizens either one has two dominant over other or they have to form different countries
