the use of religion in politics is called communalism. It means showing one religion superior than the other or spreading hatred towards other religion.

Its different forms in politics are:-
1) Expression of religious belief in day to day life:- different religious communities have different cultures and traditions. The poeple of other religions find the practices of the other religious communities different. So they usually make a stereotype about them and doesn't show any interest to know about their religion .

2)Situation of suspicion:- It creates a situation of suspicion and fear and stereotype the other community.

3) Feeling of superiority :- In this, majority community feels itself as superior and tends to dominate others. A feeling of superiority and threat persists in majority and minority community respectively .

4) Ugly form of communal violence:- At times it takes the most ugly form of communal violence, riots and masscre. The creation of India and Pakistan is one of the example of such believe.
