Answer:

Compass is  divice used to determine the direction. It consists of a small and light magnetic needle pivoted at the centre of a small circular brass case provided with a glass top. The ends of the compass needle point approximately towards north and south directions. The ends pointing towards north is called North pole and that pointing towards south is called south pole. The north pole of the needle is generally painted plack or red.

The use of compass is to determine the direction.
