Answer:

Competence is the set of demonstrable characteristics and skills that enable, and improve the efficiency or performance of a job. The term "competence" first appeared in an article authored by R.W. White in 1959 as a concept for performance motivation.

Answer:

A competency is the capacity to apply or employ a set of linked knowledge, skills, and abilities in a specific work situation in order to successfully accomplish "essential work functions" or tasks.

Explanation:

  • Students build and use competencies as a set of attitudes, abilities, and knowledge for successful learning, living, and working.
  • Entrepreneurship skills include creativity, initiative, problem-solving, resource management, and financial and technological understanding.
  • Entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial employees can use these skills to initiate and adapt to change.

To develop and sharpen entrepreneurial competencies:

  • Competency Identification and Recognition: Understanding, analysing, and recognising what entrepreneurial behaviour entails is the first step in learning a new skill. In other words, identifying and recognising the set of competencies required to effectively conduct as an entrepreneur is the first stage in creating entrepreneurial competency.
  • Competency Assessment: Once the set of abilities required to conduct like an entrepreneur has been discovered and recognised, the next step is to determine which entrepreneurial competencies the individual truly possesses. In other words, an entrepreneur's real abilities are compared to the set of competencies required to properly perform or act as an entrepreneur. By asking the relevant questions about a competency, one can determine where one stands in relation to a set of required competencies to operate as an entrepreneur or what level of competence one has.
  • Developing intervention: In order to sharpen and enhance one's competency, one must be introspective after comprehending, internalising, and practising a specific behaviour or skill. This is known as 'feedback.'

Hence, Entrepreneurial competencies are defined as a person's underlying attributes that lead to the formation of new ventures. These attributes include general and specific information, goals, traits, self-images, social positions, and talents that the person may or may not be aware of.
