\underline\bold{Complex\:Permanent\:Tissue:-}

Complex tissue consist of more than one type of cells which work together . These tissues are of two types :-

●Xylem

●Phloem

•Xylem and phloem are also known as vascular tissues and together constitutes vascular bundles.

\bold{Xylem:-}

• It consists of four types of cells :- tracheids, Xylem parenchyma , vessels, Xylem fibres.

• Tracheids & vessels have thick walls and cells becomes dead when they are mature.

• Tracheids & vessels are tabular structures that allows the transport of water and minerals vertically.

• Xylem parenchyma are the living cells and helps in storage of food.

• Xylem fibres are also dead cells with thick lighted walls and gives mechanical strength and support to plant body.

\bold{Phloem:-}

• It is a living conducting tissue and composed of five type of cells :- sieve tubes, sieve cells, companion cells, phloem fibres and phloem parenchyma.

• Sieve tubes are performed cells and are tabular in shape.

• Companion cells are associated with sieve cells.

• Companion cells contain cytoplasm and elongate nucleus. They are thin walled cells.

• Phloem helps in transportation of food from leaves to other parts of the plants.

• Except phloem fibres all phloem cells are living cells.
