The complex tissue consists of more than one type of cells. All the cells coordinate to perform a single function. They transport food, water, minerals and other materials to all parts of the plant body.

There are two types of complex tissue:

Xylem : It transports water and  minerals. The components of xylem are xylem tracheids, vessels Xylem parenchyma and xylem fibres

Phloem:It transports food and other materials from the leaf to different parts of the body. Sieve tubes, sieve cells, Companion cells, Pholem parenchyma and Phloem fibres are the components of Phloem.
